We strive to make an impact
We are a tight team with a strong technical background that is devoted to solving important problems. At delecta, we are committed to and proud of our respectful and empowering culture, where every individual can thrive and reach their full potential.
Hamid has been actively engaged in the entrepreneurship ecosystem of Vancouver. He is currently advising two startups and provides them with his consultations to take the best directions to address their technology needs. His leadership experiences provide him with the privilege of forming agile, effective, and passionate teams and leading them to success. Hamid's technical expertise has provided him with valuable skills complementing his leadership background. Hamid earned his Ph.D. in theoretical physics from the University of British Columbia (UBC). He was a member of the internationally respected String Theory group of UBC. After his Ph.D., Hamid led multiple collaboration projects between the UBC, Biogen Inc., and Harvard University machine learning research groups.
Hamid Omid, PhD
Co-founder and CEO
Ali's technical and leadership background comes from international and professional collaborations of various sizes. Ali was a core team member of the Planck space-observatory mission; a European Space Agency project consisting of more than 200 internationally known scientists from the US, Europe, and Canada. This collaboration has founded the basis of his knowledge in machine learning and data science. As a part of his professional career, Ali has designed discrete optimization algorithms and oversaw their implementation at 1QBit. Ali earned his Ph.D. in physics from the University of British Columbia, his Masters degrees in Astronomy and Mechanical engineering, and his Bachelor's degrees in Physics and Mechanical engineering.

Rocky So, PhD
Applied Researcher & Data Engineer
As a former researcher in BaBar, the international physics collaboration, Rocky analyzed particle collision data to search for new physics phenomena and made the world’s most precise measurement of a particle decay. Rocky is an expert in writing C++ and Python code for obtaining actionable insights through implementing customized machine learning algorithms. He understands the importance of data architecture systems and is enthusiastic about data engineering for large-scale data analysis projects. He is an excellent technology and science communicator with numerous publications in prestigious journals and presentations at worldwide conferences. Rocky earned his Ph.D. in experimental particle physics from UBC.
